Each piece is based on a conversation with the client. The basic direction and feeling are the most critical things to capture out of that conversation. Sometimes it is very loose, and sometimes very specific. The execution of that direction is almost always in isolation. I use intuition and my own judgment to determine the details and completion.
When I am collaborating on a project, that process is completely different. Using thumbnails, progress photos, and many email exchanges, the final art comes to life.
